Circuit trip to 3 generate - Methodist Circuit

My 3Generate Experience at the NEC – October 2025

Last weekend was such an amazing adventure! A group of us from Fairhaven Methodist and Kirkham Methodist all piled onto a bus and headed to the 3Generate youth event at the NEC in Birmingham. The journey was full of chatting, laughing, swapping snacks, and singing (some good, some… not so much!). By the time we got there, everyone already felt like good friends.

One of the coolest parts was that we actually camped inside the NEC! I’d never done anything like that before — rows and rows of tents filled the hall, and it felt like a massive indoor campsite just for young people. At night, it was a mix of giggles, whispering, and trying to get comfy in a sleeping bag. Definitely unforgettable!

The weekend was packed with worship, prayer, talks, and loads of activities. Worshipping together with so many people was incredible — the music, the lights, and the atmosphere made it feel really special. There were quiet moments of prayer too, where you could just stop and reflect, which I really liked.

And then there were the fun bits — I had a go on the climbing wall, joined in learning new dance routines, and spent time making and creating things in the activity zones. Everywhere you turned, something was going on, and everyone was getting involved.

My favourite talk was definitely the one about “How to Disagree.” It really made me think about how we handle arguments or different opinions. The speaker said that it’s okay to disagree — what matters is how we do it, and that we keep listening and respecting each other. It made so much sense, especially with how things can get online or at school.

By the time we got back on the bus to go home, we were all shattered but happy. It felt like we’d shared something really special — growing in faith, having fun, and making friends. 3Generate reminded me that young people have such an important part to play in the church, and that faith can be exciting, challenging, and full of joy.
